Space Situational Awareness

According to the Space Foundation, “the term Space Situational Awareness (SSA) refers to the ability to view, understand and predict the physical location of natural and manmade objects in orbit around the Earth, with the objective of avoiding collisions.”

Space is becoming more contested, congested and competitive, and a variety of initiatives are planned for space protection, alerting techniques for dangerous or hostile actions, as well as the basic and critical task of maintaining a catalog of all space objects. These critical tasks are driving new employment opportunities.
