Course Description |

Application of fundamentals of fluid mechanics to pressurized flow systems, hydraulic machinery and open channel systems with introduction to hydraulic drag and surface/subsurface hydrology. Topics include minor and major losses in laminar and turbulent flow, pipe networks, flow measurements, pump and turbine operation and design, uniform and nonuniform open channel flow, surface profiles, hydraulic drag formulas, introduction to steady groundwater flow with emphasis on well hydraulics and introduction to hydrologic processes with detailed coverage of surface runoff. |
