Course Description |

Introduces the field of addiction and substance use from a rehabilitation and mental health counseling perspective. Examines the social, psychological, and biological bases of addiction; assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and relapse prevention issues. Includes a focus on community awareness factors and an understanding of the functional limitations of addiction, especially as they relate to work and independent living. |
