Course Description |
Students pursuing their Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology provide diagnostic and therapeutic services under the close supervision of clinical faculty in accordance with ASHA guidelines. Students are required to complete a number of clinical hours and competencies to comply with ASHA, New York State, and University regulations.
Upon entrance into their first year of graduate study students (excluding promising students, make-up students, or students working on mastering the English language) will be scheduled a clinic caseload. Promising students, make-up students, or students perfecting their verbal or written standard American English skills will be scheduled to enter the clinic upon the discretion of academic and clinical advisors. Clinic assignments will be made at the beginning of each semester with additional assignments made as necessary. Clinic assignments will be made to accommodate for each student's academic courses, but will not be made to accommodate for outside commitments. |
