This course will present an overview of the artistic accomplishments of European societies in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Through our thematic readings, we will study architects?, painters?, sculptors?, artisans?, and patrons? contributions to the development of the Renaissance style. We will move beyond the boundaries of traditional discussions of an Italian Renaissance and a Northern Renaissance so that the interactions between North, South, and East become more apparent and appreciated.
  Course Description
Examines a current topic of interest in Art History, i.e. architecture, medieval, non-Western, Asian, etc.
