Indigenous in Academia: 50 Years of Native American Studies at UB. This seminar explores the history of Indigenous Studies in the academy and the contributions of this discipline over time. In honor of the 50th anniversary of Native American Studies at UB, the course will highlight the local, national and global impact of this program and the work of the Indigenous scholars associated with it. Students will engage with a public speakers series commemorating the 50th anniversary, and with various publications produced and influenced by this legendary program. The instructor may require a site visit to the Anderson Gallery at a date to be later determined.
