Comments
This course will explore how the legal process and those included in it ¿ the law, judges, lawyers, police, litigants ¿ is treated in popular culture, and how popular culture is arguably an imperfect mirror. We will view several well-known movies, as well as some less-known ones, and also read a few books the movies were based on. Discussions will include the historical context, how accurate they are to what happened (with those works based on real-life cases), literary value, current relevance, and how law and society have changed since.
