Comments
This course will explore how the legal process and those included in it the law, judges, lawyers, police, litigants is treated in popular culture, and how popular culture is arguably an imperfect mirror. We will view several well-known movies, as well as some less-known ones, and also read a few books the movies were based on. Discussions will include the historical context, how accurate they are to what happened (with those works based on real-life cases), literary value, current relevance, and how law and society have changed since.
