  Course Description
General Pathology is the study of basic mechanisms of disease and as such represents an essential prerequisite for human systemic disease and oral pathology. Your background in anatomy, biochemistry and physiology provided an understanding of NORMAL body function. The objective of this course is to organize these, and related disciplines, into and understanding of ABNORMAL body function. Since abnormal body function or "disease" is usually presumed to result from some form of tissue "injury", much of Pathology can be viewed as "reaction to Injury". This course will prepare students for understanding the principles of disease and the reaction to injury.
