Prerequisites: Course is open to 2nd year grads and requires permission based upon background and/or experience.
  Course Description
This one semester course consists of both lectures and structured laboratories/discussions. It is designed to provide graduate students with fundamental training in modern optical microscopy and biomedical imaging. Both the theory and practical methodology used in modern microscopy will be covered. Topics include geometric and wave optics fundamentals, bright field, phase contrast, dark field, polarizing, differential interference contrast, and fluorescence microscopes, advanced fluorescence techniques, modern cameras, confocal, two photon, deconvolution, super-resolution systems, digital image processing and analysis basics, and imaging ethics.
