This introductory graduate level course centers around the question ¿What does quality in early childhood and elementary education mean?¿ Students will examine various program philosophies and curriculum designs from approach through implementation; and understand how developmentally appropriate practice and differentiated instruction are foundational to quality. The importance of teacher-child interactions as the conduit of any curriculum, home-to-school relationships, and the importance of leadership at the program and/or district level will also be explored. Finally, the course will cover formal and informal assessment including standardized assessments, state assessments, and classroom based alternative assessments.
  Course Description
