This course is on-line synchronous. This course supports students' development of a literature review for the Research Component or Dissertation. Students should consult with their advisor on the scope/topic of their literature review before enrolling in this course.
  Course Description
This doctoral seminar deals with analyzing, synthesizing, and critically interpreting research relevant to a well-defined topic, question, or issue. Objectives for students include: comprehensively and efficiently retrieving relevant research, systematically analyzing and organizing relevant research, critically interpreting relevant research to reveal both its meanings and limitations, and writing and presenting critical reviews of research for academic audiences. A significant component of the course involves the writing-feedback-revision process to prepare students to write for academic audiences.
