Course Description |
 |
 |
In this course students learn to develop a dissertation proposal. At the conclusion of the course, each student will have a (draft) copy of a complete proposal and participate in a mock defense. To take this class, students must be willing to have their written work subject to careful scrutiny by the professor and one's peers, and students must be willing to read the work of their classmates and offer them constructive feedback. Advisors must agree that the student is at the actual proposal writing stage. This is not, in other words, a "practice run." Students must be engaged in writing their actual proposals, even if at the beginning stages of the process. |
