Dr. Zhang is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University at Buffalo. He completed his PhD in Materials Engineering in 2013 at Auburn University, USA. From 2013 to 2023, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Engineering at Auburn University, Postdoctoral Researcher in NanoEngineering at UC San Diego, a Research Assistant Professor in the Electronic Materials Research Laboratory (EMRL) at Xi’an Jiaotong University, and a Research Scientist at MIT Media Lab.
He has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, including Nature Electronics, Science Advances, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Advanced Materials, Nano Energy, etc. He holds four US patents and has written three book chapters. He also served as the Guest Editor for several journals. His work has been recognized by various prestigious media outlets, including ScienceDaily, Techxplore, Eurekalert, The engineer, ACM, ASME, MIT Technology Review, NIH Director's Blog, NIBIB, NIH Research Matters, NBC7 etc.
