East-West comparative philosophy has entered a new phase. Today what matters is an "internal" attempt at "rapprochement" rather than an "external" survey of similarities and differences. Internal attempts were made by Hegel in his own limited way, but more seriously by Leibniz in his spirit of mutual "East-West accord". My current work has its basis in Leibniz, drawing also from J. Needham's moral and eco-ethical insights.
