Bio:

Naiima Khahaifa is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. She is also a Faculty Fellow in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at SUNY Empire State College. Her research focuses on mass incarceration from the perspective of the correctional workforce. Specifically, her dissertation work seeks to contribute to mass incarceration and segregation literatures by developing a qualitative analysis of the life histories of African-American correctional officers who are key stakeholders in both the prison industrial complex and the communities targeted by mass incarceration.
