A September 22 University at Buffalo news release highlights the recent work of Associate Professor Dr. Hua (Helen) Wang on the transmedia entertainment program, "East Los High." In collaboration with Arvind Singhal, Wang recently collected data on the audience reach, engagement and impact of the program's first season and studied the visitors to the show's companion website. Findings published in the American Journal of Public Health demonstrated the success of a transmedia platform, versus traditional one-dimentional programming, in influencing its audience cognitively, socially and emotionally.
