On July 12, 2016, Associate Professor Helen Wang was invited to speak at the Convening of “Investments in Entertainment-Education as a way to catalyze and sustain social and behavior change” in New York, co-hosted by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Population Foundation of India, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, UNFPA, and UNICEF. Dr. Wang joined the opening panel on "communication for social and behavior change: where are we today?" along with UNICEF's Chief of Communication for Development Dr. Rafael Obregon. The entertainment-education program East Los High that Dr. Wang co-evaulated with Dr. Arvind Singhal of University of Texas, El Paso was one of the three projects featured at this meeting. She also helped facilitate small group discussions on "evidence, replication, and scaling-up" with participants from various government agencies, NGOs, and private companies interested in investing entertainment media for health promotion and social change.
