Urban anthropology; Buffalo; Urban identity; Space and mobility; Indigenous Bolivia; International migration; race; hearsay and narrative
After many years of research and one book on Quechua-speaking campesinos of rural Bolivia, I have begun a new phase of research on Buffalo. I am exploring how anthropological techniques and theory can be employed to help understand a large-scale phenomenon—in this case, the Buffalo urban area. My current focus is on the stories that tell Buffalonians where and who they are.
