We are proud to celebrate Professor Ana Mariella Bacigalupo's collaborative film, "Roaring Waters," which premiered on Aug. 9 in northern Peru during the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. Co-directed and co-produced with Juan Junior Prado of Cultural Association Apoyarte Perú, the short documentary explores dialogue among science, Indigenous ecological knowledge and sustainable responses to el Niño floods. It also highlights how restoring pre-Inca water management systems and respecting natural watercourses could reduce flood impacts along Peru’s northern coast. This work reflects the lasting reach of research, partnership and support across communities and generations.
