Cathleen Wendel Lista Scholarship Fund

This scholarship, named for a beloved dance student and teacher, helps support dance majors who demonstrate financial need.

Cathy Lista passed away in 2016, following a battle with cancer. This fund was established in 2018 by Mr. James F. Wendel, BS Management, to support a scholarship in the Department of Theatre and Dance within the College of Arts and Sciences.

According to friends and family, Cathy was passionate about dance, and loved teaching students of all ages and levels — including her daughters and niece.

The scholarship is typically given to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in dance who illustrates financial need, maintains a B grade or better, has a positive and supportive attitude with fellow dancers and instructors, and is preferably a Western New York native.
