Students from Buffalo can receive a four-year scholarship to study music at UB through this fund.

The John H. Hunt Memorial Fund provides a four-year scholarship to a senior student at the Buffalo Public School’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts who has been accepted to study music at the University at Buffalo’s music department.

The fund was established by Hunt Commercial Real Estate Corp., Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, Inc., and Mr. Myron M. Hunt.

The Department of Music offers performers, composers and scholars a stimulating interdisciplinary environment in which to develop their talents. The department is a showcase for world-renowned musicians, and typically offers more than 150 public performances each year, as well as master classes and lectures by visiting scholars and artists. Our faculty is comprised of internationally known soloists, ensemble musicians, orchestral players, composers, music theorists and historical musicologists committed to preparing students for careers in music.
