The Baldy Center welcomes three new fellows on campus in Fall 2024. Meghan Dawe (Postdoctoral Fellow) is a sociologist whose research investigates law and society through the lens of legal education and the legal profession, and particularly how social and economic inequalities are reproduced through lawyers’ careers. Walker Kahn (Postdoctoral Fellow) studies court systems, financial markets, and debt collection processes. His research examines how mortgage foreclosure litigation links financial markets to the precarity experienced by everyday people. Jacob Eisler (Mid-Career Fellow) will pursue a set of projects at the intersection of legal doctrine and moral philosophy, examining the relationship between state institutions and the conditions of popular democratic autonomy. On September 27, The Center features Eisler's presentation, The Rise of Populist Primacy.
