Take Five was set in motion out of conversations with Bob Scalise, Director of UB Art Galleries, about the strategy, messaging and programming of UB Arts Collaboratory. Scalise had been musing on the idea of an all-women abstraction show and moved the date of the exhibition to partner with the Arts Collaboratory on its fall season of programming. Also realized was the interdisciplinary performance led by Take Five participant, Meg Lipke, with choreographer Julia Gleich, titled Unus Mundi: Survival Ceremonies. The performance featured dancers from UB and Buff State, as well as students creating sculptural elements from UB Department of Art and film documentation by UB Department of Media Study. Enthusiastic and lively turnouts to both events.
