The Arts Collaboratory Student Residency is an annual opportunity for a UB student in the arts to receive a live-work space at 500 Seneca, generously donated by Savarino Companies.
The Arts Collaboratory’s 2022/2023 Artist-in-Residence, Taylor Robers, creates installations of painting, sculpture and sound that forge a connection between viewers and forest ecosystems by igniting curiosity through sensory experiences. As an interdisciplinary artist and naturalist, she encourages the viewer to observe closely, question, and become more engaged with their local environment. Her work has been shown at the Minneapolis Institute for Art, Gamut Gallery, and CEPA. Robers was raised between farmland, prairies, and forests of Minnesota, and wetlands and forests of Northern Wisconsin. She received her BFA from the University of Minnesota and is currently an MFA candidate at SUNY University at Buffalo.
