Description

What happens when a dancer becomes the brush? At the culmination of her weeklong residency, Gaitrie Subryan invites the community to a live performance and talk back. Working in the gallery, Subryan uses her own body as both instrument and canvas, translating rhythm and gesture into a large-scale visual work as it unfolds in real time.

Through dance, improvisation, and paint, her process becomes a visual record of movement, emotion, culture, and memory. The performance is followed by a conversation and Q&A on the intersection of dance and visual art. Come watch the dance become the painting, then stay for the conversation.
