UB alumnus Phil Zickl Jr., BA ’82, has continued playing semipro football well into his fifties, after a successful playing career at UB as linebacker in the 1980’s.  Now Phil has a new goal as an educator.  Phil is an American Football specialist and has participated in the sport for more than 40 years as both player and coach.  Phil will cover the original college football teams back in 1869 up through the first televised game in 1958.  Phil will also have an open discussion about American Football, the favorite spectator sport in the United States. In addition, you’ll learn about Western New York football connections, including actor James Whitmore and his years at Amherst Central High School.  Join Phil for this special webinar as we gear up for Fall and the UB football season opener on September 2.
