About Griffin Street Advisors
GSA was founded in the year 2000 as Griffin Associates, a consultancy established to help manage the transition of leadership, management training, and company reorganization at a large development firm with operations in Puerto Rico, Florida and the Dominican Republic. Since then, GSA has worked on a variety of assignments that have included affordable urban, suburban, and rural development initiatives supporting public-private partnerships, corporate, non-profit, and government entities.
Today, services continue to address the same gamut of clients, but has expanded to provide services in support and/or directly within the development of mixed-use and mixed-income projects, pre-development due diligence, land acquisition, assemblage, and entitlement; underwriting and financial structuring of traditional and soft financing sources; development of alternate sustainable energy strategies, infrastructure financing, and owner rep services amongst others.
Griffin Street Advisors (GSA) aims at achieving its mission alongside its public and private clients and strategic partners by imparting its extensive multi-asset expertise that creates a balanced mix of mix-income, mix-finance project models that not only take into account the creation of affordable residential units but how these interact and compliment surrounding market rate communities, retail and other commercial projects that are essential for low and moderate income residents to thrive and contribute to the economic growth of the greater community within which they are living.
Possessing an innate understanding of government programs and policy, multiple asset classes, the contributions of supporting nonprofit organizations, and private and banking sectors, GSA aims to create synergies within these seemingly divergent groups to achieve collective success in achieving similar goals through sound investment, responsible implementation of government goals and compliance mechanisms. GSA has worked on an aggregate deal flow of approximately $4 Billion US dollars focused on enhancing affordability and community redevelopment investments, GSA provides in-depth understanding, and relationships that together will help not only increase affordability but leverage an asset class as a significant factor in a community’s stabilization and growth.
