School of Management Faculty Philanthropy Committee

The UB School of Management Faculty Philanthropy Committee, founded by professors Timothy Maynes and Charles Lindsey, has been instrumental in advancing a culture of philanthropy within the School of Management and setting the tone for faculty and staff philanthropic support across the university.

Since its founding in 2019, the committee has had a major impact on advancing the school’s mission and engaging colleagues in philanthropic support. With members carefully selected, the committee’s dedication and tireless enthusiasm has paid off: faculty and staff giving has more than tripled, with a 72% participation rate in 2020-2021; and for two consecutive years, the school has led all academic units in faculty and staff giving.

It is the only UB school with a faculty group dedicated to strengthening its philanthropic culture, setting the bar for faculty and staff philanthropic support. Committee members are: Alex Ampadu, clinical associate professor, department of accounting and law; Charles Lindsey, associate professor, department of marketing and faculty director, professional and executive MBA programs; Timothy Maynes, associate professor, department of organization and human resources and faculty director, MBA program; David Murray, clinical professor, department of management science and systems and faculty director, undergraduate programs and director, Sleiman Information Assurance Lab; Mary Ann Rogers, clinical associate professor, department of organization and human resources and assistant dean, diversity and inclusion; Natalie Simpson, associate professor and chair, department of operations management and strategy and academic director, digital access education; Sanjukta Das Smith, associate professor and chair, department of management science and systems; and Cristian Tiu, associate professor and chair, department of finance.
