Tamekia (Nikki) T. Slaughter-Smith, MSW ’02
Slaughter-Smith is the sexual assault response coordinator for the 914th Air Refueling Wing at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base. As a social worker, she provides support and advocacy for base service members and Department of Defense civilians who report sexual assault, and also provides sexual assault prevention, human trafficking and resilience training. Slaughter-Smith was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves in 2013 and was deployed in 2020 to Iraq. She is a major with the 7301st Medical Training Support Battalion based at Ft. Dix, N.J. Pre-military experience included Buffalo-area positions at the Veterans Administration, where she worked in substance-abuse programs and as a veterans’ treatment court liaison; and Lake Shore Behavioral Health, where she worked with high-need populations.
