On April 8, 2024, for the first time in 99 years, Buffalo and UB will experience a Total Eclipse of the Sun. In fact, UB is virtually on the centerline of the path of totality, and thus will be a major destination for educators, scientists, media and eclipse chasers.

This webinar will discuss how UB is already preparing for this rare and spectacular celestial event, how its different departments are collaborating, and what protocols and preparations need to be instituted in order to make “UB Total Solar Eclipse Week 2024” a success.

Lastly, we’ll describe what makes a total solar eclipse so special and life-changing, and why you need to get yourself into the path of the Moon’s shadow on April 8, 2024!
