Advanced Research Computing

Advanced Research Computing, in addition to providing the other AI areas access to advanced computational resources, conducts research and develops tools to improve the performance of machine learning/AI algorithms. This builds on CCR's nationally recognized program for optimizing application performance on HPC infrastructure using XDMoD.

The Advanced Computing Thrust is lead by Thomas Furlani, PhD. Dr. Furlani serves as Director of UB's Center for Computational Research (CCR), a nationally recognized academic supercomputing center. CCR supports faculty led research by providing researcher with access to state-of-the-art high performance computing infrastructure as well as support staff is expertise in scientific computing, data analytics, machine learning, and visualization.
