Numerous media outlets around the country, including the Sacramento Bee, reported on the use of analytics in hockey and quoted Gerry Meehan, a former Sabre, now a visiting professor in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Meehan said: "I'm comfortable with analytics, as long as it's used appropriately. Technology, the eye test, video review -- all of these things have a role to play in roster evaluation."
