Chair Yoga

Chair yoga, offered in partnership with Recreation and Intramural Services, increases flexibility, strength, mental clarity and body awareness.

Chair yoga is similar to a universal yoga class however, a chair is incorporated with each pose. When standing poses are included in a Chair yoga class, the chair is used to help with and improve balance. Chair yoga may also include pranayama breathing techniques and meditation to promote focus, mental clarity and relaxation. Note: For virtual sessions, we recommend using a chair without wheels.

I am aware that the instructor cannot see me and may not be able to offer personalized instruction, and therefore I agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages, known or unknown, which I might incur as a result of participating in the classes of programs offered through UB Recreation. As determined by my physician and myself, I certify that the level of my physical condition will allow me to safely participate in programs with UB Recreation.
