Special message to Computer Lab Operators and IT Staff: Activate power management features on all monitors in computer labs. Sleeping monitors last longer and can save as much as 95% of the energy that monitors use. They also keep the lab cooler. When lab use is low, for example, during summer and holiday breaks, operate only the number of computers and monitors needed. Turn off the rest. Turn server monitors off at night and on weekends. This will not affect server operation and will keep server rooms cooler.
