The Institute Enters into Collaboration with SUNY Press

In November, 2008 the Institute formally established a partnership with the State University of New York Press. The Press’ Executive Director, Dr. Gary Dunham met with the UQ co-founders, Drs. Brooks-Bertram and Seals Nevergold during the summer to discuss details of the partnership. In addition to marketing the current titles of the Uncrowned Queens Series, the Press will also digitize the four volumes. The Institute will also work with the Press to identify future publications, some of which will be written by Seals Nevergold and Brooks-Bertram.

The first new publication to emerge from this partnership is, “Go, Tell Michelle: African American Women Write to the New First Lady” (2009), co-edited and compiled by Barbara A. Seals Nevergold and Peggy Brooks-Bertram.
