Margaret I. Wooster, M.U.P. 1988 & Ph.D. 1978

Margaret I. Wooster, M.U.P. 1988 & Ph.D. 1978, is executive director of Great Lakes United Inc. Previously, she was a watershed planner for the Erie Niagara Counties Regional Planning Board, where she met with citizens and discussed development and uniform protective regulations governing town creeks. Additionally, she was a member of the Parkside Greens, which focused its efforts on cleaning Scajaquada Creek on the first Earth Day in 1970. She is a former member of the Seneca Babcock Good Neighbor Committee. Currently, she is a board member of the Friends of the Buffalo Niagara Rivers, while serving on the national board of the Coast Alliance. She is the author of Somewhere to Go on Sunday: A Guide to Natural Treasures in Western New York & Southern Ontario (Prometheus Books, 1991), and has written numerous articles on ecology and the history of creeks and watersheds in Western New York for area journals and newspapers. Wooster resides in Buffalo, NY.
