Lou Iannone, B.A. 1990, will be competing in the Highland Games at the upcoming Scottish Festival sponsored by the Amherst Museum in Amherst, NY. An Amherst resident, he is a regular participant in Scottish athletic events in Western New York and Southern Ontario.

Doran Larson, Ph.D. 1990 & M.A. 1985, has been named assistant professor of English at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He has served as an assistant professor at the University of Texas, San Antonio, and at the University of Wisconsin. He has published books of fiction as well as academic articles and has delivered academic presentations at numerous conferences.

Matthew J. Jones, B.A. 1991 & B.A. 1990, has accepted a position as community relations coordinator for the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation in Jamestown, NY.

Erik P. Korvne, Ed.M. 1991, is the new headmaster of the Park School in Snyder, NY.

Deborah Muhlbauer, J.D. 1991, has teamed up with Gary Bluestein to form a law firm in Amherst, NY, specializing in tax representation, bankruptcy and estate planning. She concentrates her practice in federal and state tax practice and procedure and in estate planning. She is also an adjunct professor of tax practice and procedure at the UB law school.

Laura A. Briggs, J.D. 1992, has been appointed to the position of Clerk of the Court for the United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana. As such, she will be the top administrative officer responsible for overseeing the court's clerical and financial operations and staffing.

Michael A. Petrizzo Jr., B.S. 1992, was married to the former Elizabeth Anne Lotito in October 1997. He graduated from New York University School of Law with an LL.M in taxation, and will continue his studies at NYU's Stern School of Business on a part-time basis, working toward an M.B.A. in finance and marketing with a comajor in international business. A resident of Manhattan, he is currently an in-house attorney with the American International Group.

Deborah S. Purtell, B.A. 1992, is a first-grade special education teacher for the Arlington, VA, public school district.

Jae H. Yu, B.A. 1992 & B.A. 1991, earned an M.A. in economics at SUNY at Albany after graduating from UB. He has returned to Korea, where he worked at Cho Hung Bank as a foreign currency specialist. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in international business at Korea University.

Douglas M. Druzbik, B.A. 1993, has been appointed portfolio manager at Harold C. Brown and Co. in Buffalo, NY.

Robin Fenclau, B.A. 1993, is currently employed by Creative Concepts of WNY, a full-service advertising and video production agency in East Aurora, NY, as the marketing services manager. She married Jeffery Piscitelli in November 1998; they have settled in Akron, NY.

Shaheen Haque, B.S. 1993, has joined the staff of Gaines Metzler Kriner and Company, certified public accountants and consultants. She is a cum laude UB graduate and a senior accountant specializing in tax planning and compliance. She is a resident of Amherst, NY.

Garrick Ianello, B.S. 1993, married Trisha K. Bordenon in June 1998 at the Holy Name Academy Chapel in Seattle, WA. He is a resident of Portland, OR.

Marya A. Myslinski, B.A. 1993, is a clinical psychology doctoral student at the American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, VA.

Gregory J. Schaffer, B.S. 1993, was named the campus network manager for Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. He previously spent three and one-half years as assistant network manager at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He is currently pursuing his instrument flight rules rating for his pilot's license through Middle Tennessee State University's aeronautics program.

Jason M. Seligman, B.A. 1993, recently graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and is a practicing optometric physician in that state.

Michael A. Simpson, B.A. 1993, currently lives in Phoenix, AZ, and is working for Developmental Behavioral Consultants, an agency that serves developmentally disabled young adults. He is the manager of a group home in the Phoenix area, is active on the company softball team and is developing a home recording studio.

Ralph Joseph Argen III, Ph.D. 1994, J.D. 1993, M.A. 1989 & M.S. 1988, works in Tampa, FL, at Kimmins Contracting Corp. where he is corporate counsel. He resides in Lutz, FL, with his wife, Sara; sons, Ralph and Andrew, and daughter, Elna.

Ernest Gong, M.B.A. 1994 & B.S. 1993, is an associate in the asset management division of Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs in New York, NY.

Kathianne Komurek, M.A. 1994, recently received a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She is now practicing feline medicine at the Cat Hospital in Towson, MD.

Wenshen Pong, Ph.D. 1994 & M.E. 1989, has been named assistant professor for the School of Engineering at San Francisco State University, where he will teach structural engineering courses. He was previously an associate at SDE, a structural engineering consulting firm in San Francisco. He specializes in designing buildings with supplemental damping for structural control in the event of earthquakes.

Paul H. Roalsvig, J.D. 1994 & M.A. 1988, is an associate attorney with the immigration law firm of Neil A. Weinrib and Associates in New York, NY. He is a member of the rock band "Dark Marbles," and will soon be releasing a CD. He currently resides in New York City.

Richard Sanford, Ph.D. 1994, recently presented a clinic on electronic percussion in Walden, NY. His latest recording, Pient Molles, is a microtonal CD featuring Larry Austin's Xenharmonic Alliance.

John D. Shine, M.B.A. 1994, has joined Elias Management, a national investment advisory firm headquartered in Williamsville, NY. He is a portfolio manager, research analyst and a member of the firm's investment policy committee. He lives in Williamsville.

Leanne M. Gramlich, B.A. 1995 & B.A. 1994, has been elected to the Order of Barristers, a national oralists honor society.

Erik M. Mruk, B.S. 1995, has successfully completed and passed all four parts of the Uniformed Certified Public Accounting Exam. He is a member of the not-for-profit services group of Lumsden and McCormick, Certified Public Accountants.

Elton L. Parker, B.S. 1995, has graduated with honors from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, OH. He has joined the Cleveland office of Squire, Sanders and Dempsey as a member of the firm's environmental practice group.

Kevin F. Remaly, B.S. 1995, is currently assistant swim coach at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, and a behavior analyst/special education teacher with the Bethlehem Area School District. He also received a master's degree in special education.

Debra Slomba, M.L.S. 1995, was recently hired as a librarian at Elma Public Library in Elma, NY. She is a resident of Sloan, NY.

Yvonne Lynn Williams, B.S. 1995, was appointed coordinator of automated chemistry and hematology laboratories at Presbyterian Healthcare. She was married in November 1997 and resides in Charlotte, NC.

Kenny T. Yum, B.S. 1995, is the production control officer for Hasbro in Kowloon, China.

Elquemedo O. Alleyne, B.A. 1996, recently graduated from SUNY at Albany's School of Public Health with a master of public health degree, and is working on a Ph.D. in environmental and occupational health at the same institution. He is currently working on an artificial intelligence software program to detect possible water problems at the plant level at the New York State Department of Health's bureau of public water supply protection.

David A. Fieramusca, B.S. 1996, is serving on the Young CPAs Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. The committee educates and provides networking opportunities for young CPAs to advance in their professional careers and personal lives. A resident of Buffalo, NY, he is a staff accountant working with not-for-profit organizations.

John L. Leifert, J.D. 1996, has opened a law firm in New York, NY. He is engaged to marry Elizabeth Marie Vincent in February 1999.

Kathryn J. Macpherson, M.S.W. 1996, is a school social worker in Albuquerque, NM. She married Paul Perrotta in September 1998.

Michael P. Berman, Ph.D. 1997, has recently been promoted to chief information officer of Enabling Devices, a designer and manufacturer of assistive and adaptive technologies for the physically and cognitively challenged. Last year, he taught philosophy as an adjunct professor at Rockland Community College, and is serving as an assistant adjunct professor at Manhattan College in the Bronx, NY.

Andrew G. Cushing, B.S. 1997, is a graduate student and teaching assistant at Cornell University's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Cristian E. David, B.A. 1997, is currently completing a master of fine arts program in performing arts management at Brooklyn College of City University of New York. He is the associate manager at New York's Theater for a New Audience, which is located on the west side of Greenwich Village. He lives with his wife, Dora, and golden retriever, Faeden, in New York City.

Jeffrey A. Geller, B.S. 1997, is a staff scientist at Science Applications International Corp. in Las Vegas, NV.

Marc I. Hurwitz, B.A. 1997, is the executive assistant to the Deputy National Security Advisor to the President, National Security Council, the White House. He is also attending the Graduate School for National Security Policy at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs.

Kathleen A. Lynd, M.S.W. 1997 & B.A. 1988, is the supervisor of social work services at the Early Childhood Program of Baker Victory Services in Buffalo, NY.

Lynne R. McFarland, M.B.A. 1997, has been named assistant communication manager, communication group, of Rich Products Corporation. She will be responsible for directing Rich's community relations program, handling customer support to Rich's international division and providing internal organizational communication.

Anthony Pegnia, J.D. 1997, was recently made an associate with the firm Kenney Kanaley Shelton and Liptak, practicing in the firm's insurance coverage and defense departments. He is a resident of Williamsville, NY.

Scott Philbin, J.D. 1997, was recently named associate with Kenney Kanaley Shelton and Liptak, practicing in the firm's insurance coverage and defense departments. He is a resident of Camillus, NY.

Robin Secord, M.B.A. 1997, has been appointed administrator of Glenwood Village, an assisted living apartment community scheduled to open shortly. An Amherst, NY, resident, she previously served as managed care coordinator for the Community Mental Health Center of Buffalo General Hospital and as a market development representative for National Health Care Affiliates.

Mark J. Weber, B.A. 1997, is the editor of the national music industry trade publication Behind the Scenes.

Lisa M. DeStefano, B.A. 1998, was named account executive for Gelia Wells and Mohr Marketing Communications in Cheektowaga, NY.

David R. Fallace, J.D. 1998, received the Law Faculty Award for outstanding contributions to the UB law school community. He is a resident of Amherst, NY.

Thomas P. Kawalec, J.D. 1998 & B.A. 1995, has joined the law firm of Chelus, Herdzik and Speyer. He will be working at the firm's downtown Buffalo office as well as the branch office in Cheektowaga, NY. He resides in Buffalo.

Thomas M. Kent, J.D. 1998, has been elected to the Order of Barristers, a national oralists honor society. He also received the Robert J. Connelly Trial Technique Award from the UB law school during commencement ceremonies in May.

Shawn P. McCabe, B.A. 1998, has joined the staff of URS Greiner as a geographic information systems operator.

Jodi J. Perdziak, B.S. 1998, has joined Brisbane Consulting Group, a management consulting and computer technology firm, as staff consultant in the computer technology services group. She will service commercial businesses and nonprofit organizations related to the implementation and training of accounting software packages. She is a resident of Buffalo, NY.

Veronica Rodriguez, J.D. 1998 & M.S.W. 1997, received the Robert J. Connelly Trial Technique Award from the UB law school during commencement ceremonies in May.

David S. Zambron, D.D.S. 1998, has successfully completed the Northeast Regional Dental Boards on patient clinical, restorative and periodontal exercises. He will join the established practice of his father, Richard Zambron, D.D.S., in Lackawanna, NY.

Angela M. Zwirecki, J.D. 1998, M.B.A. 1990 & B.A. 1987, received the Judge Matthew R. Jasen Appellate Practice Award. She was also elected to the Order of Barristers and received the Robert J. Connelly Trial Technique Award from the UB law school.
