John J. Gmerek, B.A. 1949, was the 1998 recipient of the annual Appreciation Award presented by the Men's Club of Forest Hills, NY, in recognition of his devoted service to the fraternal and community service organization. James T. Karnes, B.S. 1949, has retired as senior architectural estimator for the New York State Division of Housing.
