Big Boost for WBFO
Fund to strengthen station's programming, outreach
A gift from the Donald L. Davis Foundation of Amherst has created the Don Davis Auto World Fund from WBFO 88.7 FM, the National Public Radio affiliate operated by UB. The gift-the largest in WBFO history-will allow the station to develop new programming and buy new equipment.
"An endowment for WBFO has been one of our high hopes for a long while," said Jennifer Roth, WBFO general manager. "The Don Davis Auto World Fund will strengthen the station's financial security, and will enable us to continue improving the quality of our programming."
A native of Buffalo who attended UB, Don Davis started the Don Davis Auto World Endowed Lectureship Fund, which supports the university's Distiguished Speaker Series. This annual series has brought many notable figures to campus, including two former U.S. presidents.
