The Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble will open the popular College of Arts and Sciences’ “Rock the CASbah” summer concert series with a performance on July 9.
The series, which began in the summer of 2010, is free and open to the public. Concerts will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays outside the Student Union on the North Campus. Rain venue is the Center for the Arts.
The aim of the series is to energize campus during the summer months while supporting local music and encouraging the community to visit UB.
Rounding out the concert schedule will be performances by The Other Side of Main on July 16; UB’s own Buffalo Chips male a cappella group on July 23 and the Beatles tribute band Beatlemagic on July 30.
More information about the individual artists can be found on the concert series’ website.
“Rock the CASbah” is just one of many public activities UB is hosting this summer. Other offerings include lectures by prominent UB researchers, youth sports camps, workshops, seminars and special events.
