UB President Satish K. Tripathi welcomed students, staff and faculty back to school this week by encouraging the university community to "make the most" of a year that has already gotten off to a "tremendous start."
"Last Thursday, our university community had the incredible honor of hosting President Barack Obama in a historic visit at UB," Tripathi wrote in his Fall Welcome to the UB family. "Over 7,200 people joined us in Alumni Arena as President Obama unveiled his ambitious new plan for ensuring greater access to higher education."
"I can’t think of a better way to kick off a new academic year," Tripathi added.
He said the university has long been a leader in providing an
education that's both affordable and exceptional, and called on
students to enrich their UB experience by exploring opportunities
like the Undergraduate Academies, internships and study abroad
programs. He asked faculty and staff to continue finding ways to
inspire students and "make UB a great place to live, study, learn
"I can’t wait to see what impressive new achievements and contributions our students, faculty, and staff will make in the academic year ahead," Tripathi said. "Welcome back, and warmest wishes for a rich and rewarding fall semester!"
