Five teams of CIT professionals and campus stakeholders will compete against each other in the inaugural CIT IGNITE contest to develop innovative uses of information technology that improve the UB experience for faculty, staff or students.
The teams will make their presentations from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 15 in 120 Clemens Hall, North Campus. CIT IGNITE is sponsored by the Office of the CIO and the CIT Professional Development Team.
“CIT has a rich history of innovation and the contest provides a forum to encourage our staff to think about and develop new, leading-edge ideas in information technology that are aimed at improving the IT experience for all of UB,” says Thomas Furlani, interim CIO.
The contest is loosely modeled after FedEx Days. While participating teams are given time to experiment with new ideas, they are expected to deliver a fully developed proposal, complete with a timeline and budget.
Proposals will be evaluated on July 15 by a panel of guest judges based on creativity, usefulness and impact.
All members of the UB community are invited to attend the presentations.
