Reporter Volume 26, No.5 October 6, 1994 A memorial service was held Sept. 28 at the Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home in Williamsville for Harry Suprinick, professor emeritus of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Suprinick died Sept. 25 at the age of 65. Suprinick received his B.S.M.E. and B.S.Met.E. from Michigan College of Mining Technology and his Ph.D. from Lehigh University. He came to UB as an instructor for four years before going to Lehigh for the Ph.D. in 1956, and upon its completion in 1962, returned to UB. He was promoted to associate professor in 1966 and held that rank until his retirement three years ago. He served with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering for almost 40 years, pursuing teaching and research interests in materials engineering. Suprinick, who supervised the undergraduate materials laboratories, did research on dental materials in the '60s. His specialization in metallurgy was the behavior of iron silicon alloys. Survivors include his wife, Marie; two daughters, Mary Catherine O'Connor and Valeria A. Maving; a sister, Sophie Bodnaruk; and two grandchildren.
