Architecture exhibition
"Projects from Liquid Cities," Mehrdad Hadighi. Sponsored by the School of Architecture and Planning, the exhibition can be seen in the James Dyett Gallery, 334 Hayes Hall on UB's South Campus, through Oct. 5. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Intricate textiles<
"Textiles from the Permanent Collection" is on view through Sept. 18 in the University Art Gallery, Center for the Arts, North Campus. The show includes intricately designed pieces from Africa and Indonesia. Free admission. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, noon-5 p.m.

Lightwell wall
Leonardo Drew's site-specific installation "No. 45-A" was designed for the Lightwell Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus, and is there through October.

Prints today
"UB Prints Today," an exhibition of selected student works from 1996, will be on display through Oct. 1 in the Art Department Gallery, B45 Center for the Arts, North Campus. Artists represented are Olenka Bodnardsky, Susan Budash, Jim Burns, Alan Coburn, Rebecca Costanzo, Ben Dunkle, Nathan Bradley Hochstetler, David Jablonski, Jason Jones, Meg Kasper, Suzanne Lewke, Michael Parker, Rebecca Rabideau, Kyoko Roszman, Adam Selbst, Michael Smearer, Amy Swartele, Daniel Walker, and Michael Yeomans. Art Department Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday; and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Prints yesterday
"Prints and Photographs from the Permanent Collection" features work by Lita Albuquerque, Dan Graham, Michael Kenna, Grace Knowlton, and Dennis Oppenheim, through Sept. 18 in the University Art Gallery, Center for the Arts, North Campus. Free admission. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, noon-5 p.m.

HUBNET survey
A survey of users of HUBNET-Hospitals and University at Buffalo Library Resources Network-will be conducted Sept. 16 through Oct. 10. Results will influence database acquisition and retention decisions. The survey is available on the Windows version of HUBNET. Those wishing a paper copy should contact Health Sciences librarian Nancy Stimson, 829-3337.

Language skills program
The English Language Institute at UB is offering a part-time English language program for non-speakers. The program, designed for international professionals, scholars, students and homemakers who want to improve their English skills, offers instruction in Advanced Communication for the International Professional, Advanced Writing and Grammar for the International Professional, Living and Working in English (Intermediate), Accent Reduction Course and TOEFL Preparation Course. All classes meet in the evening and begin the week of Sept. 16. For more information, call 645-2077.

Pianos for sale
Roger's Pianos, Organs & Clocks will hold a sale of new and used pianos noon-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 and 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 in the atrium of the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The annual sale is held in conjunction with an agreement UB has with the Baldwin Piano Co., which each year offers a selection of new pianos for the university's use, free of charge. These and other pianos then are offered for sale to the public. A cash donation also will be made to the university from proceeds of the sale. Preview appointment may be made by calling 636-4434.
