Art in Poland
"Art in Poland: New Directions" features work by eight artists from the Krak÷w area, through July in the University Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Lightwell wall
Leonardo Drew's site-specific installation "No. 45-A" was designed for the Lightwell Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus, and is there through October.

Sesqui exhibit
"UB Remembers," a university sesquicentennial exhibit organized by University Archives, continues through Sept. 10 in 420 Capen Hall on the North Campus. Groups may arrange a visit by calling 645-2916. Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Technologies for teachers
The Instructional Technology Services group of Academic Services-CIT is offering a series of three-hour classes during the summer designed to introduce faculty to a variety of teaching technologies. Hands-on classes are offered in PowerPoint and World Wide Web page creation. Lecture- demonstration topics include Digital Imaging, Internet Resources, Authorware, and Distance Learning. Classes are free, but enrollment is limited. For registration information, call 645-2803.

Printmaking professor curates Rochester show
Adele Henderson, assistant professor of printmaking in the Dept. of Art, selected the works being exhibited in the Print Club of Rochester's 63rd annual exhibition. The show is on view through Aug. 11 at the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, 500 University Ave., Rochester.

Language experiments
The Language Perception Laboratory is seeking subjects to participate in simple language experiments. The pay is approximately $5 per hour. Subjects must be native speakers of American English, and have no history of serious speech, hearing, or vision disorders. The lab is located at 386 Park Hall, North Campus. The academic year spelled out
A statement from President William R. Greiner specifies the exact length of the academic year obligation at the University at Buffalo for the coming year: "The 1996-97 academic year obligation will commence on August 19, 1996 and will end May 19, 1997. During that period, persons having academic year obligations will be expected to be available for service, consistent with their departmental assignments, program responsibilities, and the college calendar. The 1996-97 academic year will begin on August 26, 1996."
