Gov. Pataki, Mrs. Greiner invited to serve on university's Sesquicentennial Honorary Committee

GOV. GEORGE E. PATAKI has accepted an invitation to serve as chair of the university's Sesquicentennial Honorary Committee.

Mrs. Carol Greiner, wife of UB President William R. Greiner, is serving as co-chair of the Sesquicentennial Honorary Committee.

One-hundred-four community leaders, elected officials and special friends of the university have accepted the invitation from President Greiner to serve on the committee, formed "to make longtime UB friends and supportersƒa part of the traditions and transitions which we are celebrating."

The university is marking its 150th birthday and that of the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences with a vast array of special events that began in January and will continue through June 1997.

Philip B. Wels, M.D., chair of the UB Council, is a member of the committee, as are council members Roger I. Blackwell; Lawrence P. Castellani; Frank N. Cuomo; Jonathan A. Dandes; John F. Kopczynski Sr.; James Phillips, M.D.; John N. Walsh III, and Michael Pierce. Also on the committee is council member emeritus Mary E. Randolph.
