Nominations Open for Distinguished Professor

We are writing to solicit your nominations for promotion to the rank of Distinguished Professor, Distinguished Service Professor or Distinguished Teaching Professor. If you know a colleague who should be considered for such a promotion, and who currently holds the rank of Professor, we would appreciate your calling his or her name to our attention. Please write a letter explaining in detail why you think the candidate merits this extraordinary honor. We need to receive your letter by Friday, Nov. 17, so that we may solicit appropriate dossiers from the departments of the candidates and so that our respective committees will have time to do their work.

If you are nominating the candidate for the rank of Distinguished Professor, your letter should go to Professor Kenneth Levy, Senior Vice Provost, 562 Capen Hall. If you are nominating the candidate for the rank of Distinguished Service Professor, your letter should go to Professor David Triggle, Vice Provost for Graduate Education, 409 Capen Hall. If you are nominating the candidate for the rank of Distinguished Teaching Professor, your letter should go to Professor Nicolas Goodman, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, 255 Capen Hall.

Thank you very much for your help in finding colleagues whose contributions over the years are so significant that they should hold the highest rank that SUNY recognizes.

Kenneth Levy, David Triggle, Nicolas Goodman
