OPENING EXHIBIT

Architects on South Campus

"Hamilton Houston Lownie Architects" is on view through Nov. 3 in James Dyett Exhibition Hall, 335 Hayes Hall, South Campus. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit is presented by the School of Architecture & Planning.

3 Printmakers

Show by Rhode Island printmakers Leslie Bostrom, Stephen Fisher, and Nancy Friese, through Oct. 21 in the Art Department Gallery located in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, and mezzotints. Gallery hours Tuesday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Volo's solo show

Alfonso Volo is a poet and an artist whose work is on view through Nov. 5 in the University Gallery, Center for the Arts, North Campus.

J. Scott Fleming Merit Award applications

The University Student Alumni Board (USAB), the student affiliate of the UB Alumni Association, is accepting applications for the J. Scott Fleming Merit Award. The award recognizes full-time students whose volunteer efforts and leadership have helped to promote student involvement at UB and have enhanced the student experience. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25. For more information and an application packet, call 829-2608.

Ronald McNair applications

The Ronald McNair Program is accepting applications until Oct. 30 for the 1995-96 program. The program, open to juniors and seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA, is designed to prepare students for graduate and doctoral study. Students receive a $2,400 stipend. Applications are available from the Office of Student Multicultural Affairs, 215 Norton Hall, North Campus. For information, call 645-2732.

Reception for the Provost

A reception for Provost Thomas Headrick is being held 4:15-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Student Union Social Hall on the North Campus. The Campus Club is hosting the reception, along with the Faculty Senate and the Professional Staff Senate. President William R. Greiner will introduce the Provost. The university community is welcome.

Bodybuilders in the Center for the Arts

The Niagara Association of the Amateur Athletic Union will present the 1995 Mr. & Ms. U.S.A. Natural (Drug-tested) Bodybuilding Championship, Saturday, Oct. 21 in the Center for the Arts' Mainstage on the North Campus. The judging begins at 9:30 a.m., and finals are at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through TicketMaster or by calling 839-2626.
