Overweight Kids Sought for Program

Overweight children between 8 and 12 are being sought to participate in the Stoplight Diet Program, a free, four-month weight-control program conducted by UB psychologists and directed by Leonard Epstein, professor of psychology.

Participants are placed on a plan that includes a nutritionally balanced diet, regular exercise, behavior modification and a maintenance program.

To be eligible, children must weigh at least 20 percent more than the ideal weight for their age, and have one parent willing to attend weekly treatment meetings with the child. Although the program is free, a refundable deposit is required. Enrollment is limited. For more information, or to enroll a child , call 645-6316 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
