SUNY Central is out; SUNY System Administration is in. FSEC members learned, in their Sept. 26 meeting, that state university leadership now call their home on State Street in Albany, SUNY System Administration. At the urging of University Provost Joseph Burke, System Administration was made the semi-official name, according to SUNY spokesman Kenneth Goldfarb.

However, Goldfarb said, that does not mean they will no longer answer to SUNY Central. "It is reflected on the nameplate out front and on the letterhead as our preferred name." Until the legislature passes a law rewriting dozens of statutes, the legal name remains "SUNY Central."
